Android 4.1 update for AT&T Motorola Atrix HD

Holding onto the Motorola Atrix HD for AT&T? Roughly five months after its release, the Motorola Atrix HD for AT&T got treated to an update to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. The refresh will be available for download over WiFi and will offer the usual suite of new features that come as part of the Jelly Bean package, but it’ll also add Quick Settings and a few other enhancements to the mix.

This has been a good week for updates, as the Atrix HD joins the Verizon Galaxy S III and Sprint EVO 4G LTE in their Jelly Bean venture. Android 4.1 brings some nifty features to the table that include Google Now and its enhanced search, project butter, expandable notifications, and more.

How to get Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Update For Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3

Verizon announced Thursday that it would start rolling out the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for the Samsung flagship smartphone from Friday.The carrier plans on releasing the software in phases and users that wish to download it manually can do so from the Settings menu within a week.

Android 4.1 Jelly Bean brings its most famous new feature, Google Now, to the Galaxy S3, alongside richer notifications and new camera filters.Android 4.1 also brings support for Verizon’s Isis wallet, a mobile payment collaboration that rivals Google Wallet. Isis wallet is live in Salt Lake City and Austin.

Here are the software update instructions. But before that, keep in mind the following aspects:

– System update size – 400.7 MB

– Estimated software download time – approximately 12-17 minutes

Update Instruction

Step 1: You will be notified that a system update is available on your device. Tap OK to continue. Your device will turn off and then turn on and the installation will begin.

Note: If you choose Defer, this will delay installation and you will be taken back to the home screen. The system update message will appear every 30 minutes until you install the update.

Step 2: After you’ve received first notification of the system update, you can manually initiate by going to Home > Applications > Settings > About Phone > System updates. Press Restart & install. Your device will turn off and then on and the installation process will begin.

Step 3: The update begins once your device turns off and restarts and you will see the following screen.

you will not receive a system update notice, If you are roaming. To update your device during roaming, you will have to ensure Wi-Fi availabllity in that area.

If the system update fails to install, you will get an error screen. However, this only means the software was not installed properly. Remove and re-insert the battery and turn the device on. The device will turn on with original software and will prompt you once again to install the system update.
