Owners of Samsung Galaxy Note 3 phablet who have been awaiting an upgrade to Android 5.0 Lollipop are in for a sweet treat if they’re customers of T-Mobile. T-Mobile updated the progress tracker for software updates on its website to reflect that the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for the Galaxy Note 3 was being tested by the carrier.
Android 5.0 Lollipop firmware for Sprint’s variant of the Galaxy S5 has been leaked out by the XDA developers community. That said, it should be mentioned that this firmware won’t run on run properly on any other version of the handset. The firmware comes with build number PVPU1BNKD.
Verizon confirmed that Android 5.0 Lollipop is now seeding to Moto X (2014). The original Moto X last year was among the first devices to see Android 4.4 KitKat, and this year Motorola has done it again and is one of the first manufacturers to deliver the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop to its flagship smartphone.
According to LG news, the South Korean owners of the LG G3 smartphone will be receiving Android 5.0 this week. G3 owners in other regions will just have to sit tight, as the blog post doesn’t mention anything about the wider roll-out of LG’s Lollipop.
Android 5.0 Lollipop factory image for LG Nexus 4 is now available for download from Android Developers. The build number of the release is LRX21T.
The unlocked version of the Moto G (Gen 2) becomes the first phone to receive the Android 5.0 Lollipop firmware update.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 flagship smartphone, which was launched during the MWC 2014 event in February, will reportedly receive the Android 5.0 Lollipop update starting from December this year.
