Having seeded Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update to all its flagship devices that were released in the last two years, Samsung appears to be planning to reach out to all eligible lower-end devices. The Galaxy A8 device is expected to receive the firmware very soon, perhaps in a week or two.
The Samsung Galaxy A8 has been granted Wi-Fi Certification and approval for running the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, according to SamMobile. A device that has received Wi-Fi Certification and approval for a firmware upgrade usually gets it within a few days. Once upgraded to the latest version of the operating system, the Galaxy A8 owners will be able to enjoy features like Doze, Now on Tap, Runtime Permissions and Google Now on Tap.
