Good news for the Malaysian Samsung Galaxy S5 owners, as they start off their new year, their phones have been updated to the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop, which has brought with it an improved usability, performance and TouchWiz UI. Though this update has not yet been made available through the OTA, but if you want to get your hands on it plug your phone into PC or laptop and make use of Samsung Kies 3.
Before downloading the update, make sure that you have Samsung Kies 3 downloaded on your device. Then you can plug in your Samsung Galaxy S5 and install the update by downloading it through Samsung Kies 3. For the update, you need to have at least 3GB of free space on your phone along with fully charges battery backup. It is also highly recommended to backup all your phone data before starting the installation process.
When you first open apps on your Samsung Galaxy S5 after installation of the Android Lollipop update, your phone processing might seem to be slow and sluggish but nothing to worry about. It is just the first initialization and optimization process and you will need to update some of your apps to match the latest Android 5.0 for best performance and compatibility. With the installation of this new update, it has also been notified that their will be a reduction of at least 950 MB in the current memory of your Samsung Galaxy S5.
