According to LG news, the South Korean owners of the LG G3 smartphone will be receiving Android 5.0 this week. G3 owners in other regions will just have to sit tight, as the blog post doesn’t mention anything about the wider roll-out of LG’s Lollipop.
Outside of Korea we can expect the unlocked LG G3 units to see Lollipop first, followed by many US carriers. Last year AT&T was among the first to the Android 4.4 KitKat update in the United States, one that caused many LG G2 owners trouble, but this time around we’re hearing things are coming along much better.
Android 5.0 Lollipop promises a heavily-revamped user interface, improvements to performance thanks to the new ART runtime, improved battery life and a ton of new features that manage to label Android 5.0 the richest release to date.
